Every other year more than a hundred professional artists sign up to Trondheim Open, and have open studios, joining us in creating the largest art festival in our region. If you're a member of, or qualify automatically to, TBK, NKM er a similar organisation, you can sign up through a form on this website closer to the festival. Artists that have signed up keep their studio open for the public one day during the festival, and can apply to attend the Art Market. TBK, NKM eller en lignende fagorganisasjon, melder du deg på gjennom påmeldingsskjemaet vårt som dukker opp her når det nærmer seg festival. Påmeldte kunstnere holder åpent atelier én av festivaldagene og får mulighet til å delta på vårt tradisjonelle Kunstmarked.
Meeting the audience is perhaps the essence of Trondheim Open. When I have an exhibition I often miss an immediate response. And that is exactly what I get when people visit me in the studio!
ART MARKET
Once you have registered for Trondheim Open, you can also apply to show works at the Art Market!
The Art Market is held during the festival, and is open for 10 days. For a large part of our audience this is the first meeting with the festival, and a nice introduction to the local artists.
ARTIST INITIATED PROGRAM
Trondheim Opens purpose is to make visible and communicate professional artistic activity, and we have a well-established tradition of collaborating on this with the artists in Trøndelag.
ARTIST INITIATED PROGRAM
We have extensive experience in including artist-initiated projects in the program. From group exhibitions to interdisciplinary projects and dog portraits. If you have an idea for something you want to test or if you want to show something you have worked on for a long time - contact us and write about your project. Our criteria is that it must be in line with our statues, arranged by artists who qualify, and signs up for Trondheim Open and free attendance for the audience.
Trondheim Open can provide
- Letter of intent that can be used in applications for support
- Basic communication of the project through our social media channels and program
- Booking (if necesary) through our ticket system
CURATOR VISITS
Vi arrangerer kuratorbesøk under festivalen. En håndfull kuratorer blir invitert til byen, velger ut kunstnere basert på kunstnerprofilene på nettsiden vår, og besøker 4-5 kunstnere hver. I tillegg tar de turen på åpne atelier for å få med seg ennå flere kunstnerskap.
Kuratorene som besøkte Trondheim Open i 2022 var:

- Satu Oksanen from Kiasma in Helsinki
- Adriana Alves from Nordnorsk Senter for Samtidskunst (NNKS) in Svolvær
- Lotte Løvholm from Collega in Copenhagen
