Jeg har bakgrunn som fotograf, men jobber også med film, lyd og installasjon både alene og i samarbeid med andre.

Jeg tar ofte utgangspunkt i et sted eller fenomen i mine prosjekter og utforsker blant annet sammenhenger mellom identitet og sted. Ofte samarbeider jeg med Eva Ballo i duoen ‘Ballo og Skålnes’.

Vi har jobbet med kunst i forbindelse med stedsutvikling og relasjonelle prosjekter. I samarbeidet vårt er vi interesserte i å utforske lokale fenomener gjennom et undrende og humoristisk blikk. Ved å samle og fordøye informasjon forsøker lager vi arbeider som knytter fortid og nåtid sammen. I 2024 er vi aktuelle med peformance på festivalen Håsong Lokal og deltar i gruppeutstillingen ULLDAGA på TSSK.

Inga Skålnes har en BA fra Southampton Solent University (2012) og en MA fra Kunstakademiet i Trondheim (2016). Skålnes jobber, ved siden av egen kunstnerisk praksis, som daglig leder for Trondheim Open og kunstfaglig prosjektleder for Trondheim kommune. Inga har også drevet prosjektet Slå På Kunst, sammen med Carlos A Correia, siden 2017.

My background is as a photographer, but I also work with film, sound and installation both alone and in collaboration with others.

My projects often take a place or phenomenon as their starting point and explore, among other things, the connections between identity and place. I often collaborate with Eva Ballo in the duo ‘Ballo and Skålnes’.

We have worked with art in connection with place development and relational projects. In our collaboration, we’re interested in exploring local phenomena through a wondering and humorous gaze. By gathering and digesting information, we try to create works that connect past and present. In 2024 we will be performing at the festival Håsong Lokal and participating in the group exhibition ULLDAGA at TSSK.

Inga Skålnes holds a BA from Southampton Solent University (2012) and an MA from the Trondheim Art Academy (2016). In addition to her own artistic practice, Skålnes works as the general manager of Trondheim Open and art project manager for Trondheim Municipality. Inga has also run the project Slå På Kunst, together with Carlos A Correia, since 2017.
