Jeg er en dansk-portugisisk kunstner. Jeg har en mastergrad fra Kunstakademiet i Trondheim og PPU fra NTNU.
Mit arbejde som kunstner involverer ofte samarbejde, installationer, social interaktion og engagement i offentlige rum, kendetegnet ved en udforskning af overførbarhed mellem materialer og koncepter samt en løbende eksperimentering med de potentielle rum og kontekster, hvor kunst kan operere.
Et tilbagevendende tema i mit arbejde er gæstfrihed, menneskers sundhed og velvære samt et fokus på den bredere funktion af kulturelt arbejde og dets potentiale til at ændre samfundet. Jeg er interesseret i relationel æstetik og socialt engagerede kunstpraksisser, og i forlængelse heraf sociale tabuer. Mine værker kredser også om en følelse af sårbarhed og en bevidsthed om nødvendigheden af at tage chancer for at kunne kommunikere det, jeg ønsker at sige.
På trods af de ofte alvorlige temaer jeg udforsker i min kunst, er det vigtigt for mig at anvende humor, elementer af overraskelse og legende æstetik for at adressere problemstillinger der både er socialt komplekse og følelsesmæssigt tvetydige, samt for at invitere mit publikum til at genoverveje de kontekster jeg arbejder i, og hvad deres oplevelse af mit arbejde indebærer. Tværfagligt samarbejde er en vigtig del af mit arbejde, da det fremmer ideen om, hvad et kunstværk og dets funktioner kan være.

I am a a Danish-Portuguese artist, rooted in Madeira through my mother’s heritage. I hold a Master’s Degree from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts and PPU from NTNU.
My work as an artist often involves collaboration, installation, social interaction and an engagement with public spaces, characterised by an exploration of the transferability between materials and concepts, and an ongoing experiment with the potential spaces and contexts in which art can operate.
A recurring theme in my work is hospitality, human health and well-being, and a focus on the broader function of cultural work and its potential to change society. I am interested in relational aesthetics and socially engaged art practices, and in extention social taboos. My works also revolves around a sense of vulnerability, and an awareness of the necessity of taking risks in order for me to communicate what I want to say.
Despite the often serious themes I am exploring in my art, it is important for me to make use of humour, elements of surprise and playful aesthetics in order to address issues that are both socially complex and emotionally ambiguous, and to invite my audience to reconsider the contexts I am operating in and what their experience of my work implies. Interdisciplinary collaboration is an important part of my work, as it advances the idea of what an artwork and its functions can be.
