Yinlin Kong ( Chongqing, China, f.1997) Lives and works in Trondheim.
She majored in traditional Chinese painting and completed her BFA at Sichuan Fine Art Institute in 2020. Following MFA at KiT, Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2022.

Yinlin Kong’s artistic practice is an ongoing investigation into the perspectives of different societies within varied cultural contexts of environmental conservation. Her artistic practice is symbiotically linked to the visual imagery of penguins in the form of paintings and sculptures through which the artist juxtapositions classic tales and literature with the contemporary issue of environmental preservation. Through mediums such as paintings, sculptures and installations, she depicts situations that prompt reflection on environmental responsibility and collective action through the imaginative lens of anthropomorphized penguins placed in narratives of heroism and challenge.
